History

Early days

Eric James Woolfoot started his apprenticeship as a gas engineer in 1968 and this would be the start of a long and successful career in the heating industry. He had a passion for providing excellent service, priding himself on the quality of his work and the family values he ran his business by. Over the years, Eric built a good reputation for delivering professional heating services in the Yorkshire area. In 1996 he took on a young university student named James Wilkin. James was on a gap year at the time and worked on and off with Eric over the next 4 years before starting a full-time apprenticeship in 2000.

Forming a Limited Company

In March 2003, E J Woolfoot Limited was incorporated as a private limited company. Eric Woolfoot and James Wilkin were named as directors and the company went from strength to strength. Although James had originally started as an apprentice, he had worked tirelessly with Eric to learn the trade inside out. He benefited from the excellent training and teaching Eric gave him and they formed an exceptional professional relationship based on their shared values and company vision. After Eric’s retirement in 2014, James decided to continue to build on Eric’s legacy and took over the running of the company.

Woolfoot Heating today

Although the company has evolved, it still retains the values it was founded on all those decades ago. Many engineers have learnt the trade through working with Woolfoot Heating and have since gone on to form their own companies. The Woolfoot team is still going strong with expert engineers and a network of reliable sub-contractors who all worked and trained at Woolfoot at some stage in their career. The Woolfoot team is dedicated to delivering excellence and, every day, we continue Eric’s mission to keep homes and businesses across Yorkshire warm.
